okoii Blog ImageDo you wash your face everyday? Of course! But, it is very interesting and surprising to know many people do not know how to wash their face properly.

Come to think of it, have you ever been taught by the skin care shop how to wash your face when you buy a cleanser or facial soap? I haven’t… I think they should. Washing your face is the key step of skin care routine.

Here is Wash Your Face 101 !

  1. Tie your hair and wash your hand with soap.
  2. Remove your make up by make up removal (I recommend cleansing oil without any synthetic ingredients).
  3. Use lukewarm water (not cold or hot) and wet your face completely.
  4. Apply your soap/cleanser. Use a mild face soap or cleanser without harsh chemicals.
  5. If your use soap, lather the soap well until the lather becomes fine and creamy.
  6. Gently massage from forehead and nose first and move to your cheek and other areas. Massage your cheek by gently rotating upwards. Never rub or massage hard.
  7. Splash your face with lukewarm water many times until the soap/cleanser has removed completely. The residue of the soap/cleanser is often left near hairline and may create acne.
  8. Pat dry with a clean towel.

If you wash your face in proper way, your skin care routine will be much more effective. You may even notice the difference in your skin over time if you continue washing your face properly.

Have a nice face wash today! Ciao for now.

okoii Blog ImageHave you made your New Year’s resolution? If you have, I believe you still need to stick to what you have decided, as it has only been four days. Yes, I went for a long walk today as my New Year’s resolution is to lose weight (please see the previous blog entry).

But I have read a shocking fact. Some research shows that the typical New Year’s resolution is usually repeated every year for 10 years (the same resolution !!). About 25% of a New Year’s resolution will not last more than 15 weeks in to the year.

If I decide to walk 4 km everyday, a time may come when I would not be able to make it. This resolution is unrealistic. It is great to have a big goal, but it may be very hard to sustain it, and you may end up giving it up totally.

It may be a good idea to start small. Let’s think “better than nothing”. If we do a little regularly, we can expect our brain and daily routine change. But if we do nothing, we can expect to get or achieve nothing. Let’s take a small step, which will lead bigger steps.

May you achieve success in life and all your wishes come true for the year.
